Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon mint extract
  • 23 drops natural green food coloring (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

 
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line baking sheets with parchment paper
  2. Using a stand mixer or a hand mixer cream butter and sugar
  3. Beat in the egg, then mint extract, then food coloring until well combined
  4. In a separate bowl sift or mix together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt
  5. Beat flour mixture into wet mixture, 1/2 cup at a time
  6. Stir in chocolate chips
  7. Form dough into 22-24 balls and place on baking sheet at least 2 inches apart
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Let cool on pan for 5 minutes before transferring ​​to cooling rack​
