I have this newfound hobby of giving *glow ups* to my existing favorite recipes, and my fudgey grain-free brownies are really the best vessel for all sorts of tasty variations. They’re so easy to add any toppings or frosting. This time I got inspiration from another favorite recipe – Peanut Butter Pretzel Magic Bars – and the result was the most loaded, decadent MAGIC Brownie Bars.

Ingredients
Brownie Ingredients:
- 1 cup almond flour
- 3/4 cup monk fruit sweetener
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sugar-free chocolate chips
Topping Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sugar-free chocolate chips
- 3 tablespoons sugar-free butterscotch chips
- 3 tablespoons sugar-free white chocolate chips
- 3 tablespoons crushed pecans
- 1/4 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
- 1/4 cup HighKey mini chocolate chip cookies (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper
- In a large bowl combine almond flour, monk fruit sweetener, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt
- Then mix in the egg, butter and vanilla. Lastly mix in the chocolate chips
- Spread batter into baking pan. Top with melted peanut butter, and use a butter knife to swirl peanut butter into the batter
- Top with a layer of more chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, white chocolate chips, nuts and coconut. Press down into batter
- Bake for 25-27 minutes. As soon as out of oven, press mini cookies into top of brownies
- Let cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares or bars

Do I have to use almond flour?
- In this case, almond flour is the key ingredient in these brownies. Generally, I recommend using a super fine version (not almond meal). My favorite brand is Bob’s Red Mill super fine almond flour
- Now, I would not recommend using coconut flour – it’s a very different consistency than almond flour and would require different ingredients/measurements
- Regular flour or oat flour should work in this recipe, however I have not tried those
What are the brands of low sugar toppings you used?
- Lily’s stevia sweetened chocolate chips
- Lily’s stevia sweetened butterscotch chips
- Bake Believe stevia sweetened white chocolate chips
- HighKey mini chocolate chips cookies
Do I have to use monk fruit sweetener?
- Alternatives to monk fruit sweetener are regular sugar or coconut sugar, however that would make this recipe no longer Keto-friendly
Do I have to use butter?
- If you would like to substitute the butter, then you can use coconut oil or your favorite dairy-free butter.
Can I make these brownies egg-free?
- I have not tried with this recipe yet, but if you wanted to make vegan you could try using 2 flax “eggs” (let me know if you do!)
A hack to make these Magic Brownies even easier…
- You can skip the “from scratch” brownie recipe, and use your favorite brownie mix! Of course, I won’t tell anyone 😉 To keep Keto-friendly, I love the HighKey brownie mix (grain-free, gluten-free).
