  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Toss strawberries with sugar and water, then add to the bottom of a 9×13 cake pan
  3. Sprinkle cake mix evenly on top of the strawberries (do not mix!), then place butter slices evenly across cake mix
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until edges are bubbling and top is golden brown
  5. Allow to cool completely before serving topped with a dollop of whipped topping
