Cottage cheese is having its moment! Cottage Cheese Pizza Dip is a savory, high-protein and keto-friendly dish that can be served as a meal or a snack! Keep scrolling for the recipe.
I love cottage cheese (and already have some recipes that use it!), so I’m incredibly happy to see that it’s finally getting a moment in the limelight. Now, cottage cheese comes with a fantastic nutritional label. Just one cup of cottage cheese contains upwards of 20 grams of protein. By mixing it with other high protein items — like different cheeses, meats or protein powder — you can easily have a snack with 40 grams of protein. And we love that! The natural fat content of the cheese makes for a very balanced snack or meal, too. However, you can also purchase low-fat cottage cheese.
With everything from cottage cheese ice cream to cottage cheese cookie dough going viral on TikTok it is about time that a savory recipe came about! Cottage cheese is a slightly saltier cheese, but it actually has a fairly mild flavor, which makes it a perfect blank canvas. This recipe was inspired by The Balanced Nutritionist’s Cottage Cheese Pizza Bowl, with just a few modifications.

Though made with less than 10 ingredients, this Cottage Cheese Pizza Dip is incredibly flavorful. Imagine scraping all the toppings off your pizza and using that as a dip… that’s the vibe here. It’s the ideal bite to reach for when you want those pizza flavors, but perhaps not a *whole* pizza, or are looking for something a little healthier.
Ingredients and Substitutions for Cottage Cheese Pizza Dip
Do I need to blend the cottage cheese?
Nope! If you like the texture of cottage cheese, then you can skip that step. Do note that when heated cottage cheese gets a little more curdled. So, I recommend blending the cheese to keep it smooth — especially if you dislike the texture. Blending cottage cheese can turn the haters into lovers, for sure.
What other toppings can I use?
In this case, I use pepperoni. However, the beauty of this recipe is how versatile it is! You can test out any of your favorite pizza toppings on this recipe. I would try other meats, veggies, or even pineapple if you’re feeling wild.
What should I use for dippers?
I think that crackers, bell peppers, or pieces of bread make great dippers for this recipe. You could also eat this with a spoon!
Is there a way to make this a little less cottage cheese-y?
Actually, yes! If you’re not a huge fan of cottage cheese, but still want to try out the trends, then you could substitute half the cottage cheese for cream cheese.

Think I could sub nutritional yeast for one of the cheeses here? And what do you think of serving this with toasted bagel chips or (cottage cheese/egg whites involved) soft Italian bread for a quick lunch or dinner?
