If you love Shake Shack’s Shackburger, you’re absolutely going to want to make this homemade Copycat Shake Shack Cheeseburger Bowl. It’s an easy recipe to prepare the ingredients ahead of time and have on hand for nourishing lunches all week. Once you try it, you’ll be hooked – find the recipe below!
Every burger chain has their own thing. Five Guys: Fries. In N’ Out: Animal style. Shake Shack: Shack sauce. In the case of Shake Shack their Shack Sauce features on the popular ShackBurger. And as far as burgers go, the ShackBurger is really quite simple. In fact, its only ingredients are: burger patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato and ShackSauce. So, that’s how you know… the secret is in the sauce.
As a food blogger who has enjoyed some of the best burgers in the country, the Shake Shack Shackburger still remains up there as one of my top favorites. There’s just something so satisfying about the thin patties, the soft & buttery bun, and, of course, the famous ShackSauce to bring it all together.
As I sat thinking up inspiration for my next HB Power Bowl, I found myself craving Shake Shack. Thus, this delicious and nourishing Copycat Shake Shack Cheeseburger Bowl was born. Now, mine doesn’t have the exact Shack Sauce (it’s under lock and key somewhere in burger kingdom), but I believe it gets pretty darn close.

- Prep Time: 5
- Cook Time: 20
- Total Time: 25 minutes
- Yield: 4 1x
- Category: Lunch, Dinner
- Method: Stovetop
- Cuisine: American
- Diet: Gluten Free
Ingredients
Bowl ingredients:
- 16oz bag frozen crinkle cut French fries*, prepared as directed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef (I used 85% lean)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 4–5 cups green leaf lettuce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced fresh tomato
- 1/2 cup diced red onion
- pickle slices (optional)
Sauce Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon dill pickle relish
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Begin by preparing French fries as directed, either in oven or air fryer
- Add oil to a large stovetop pan and heat to medium. Add ground beef to pan, use a spatula to break it up, add all of the seasoning. Cook for 8-10 minutes, or until beef is brown and fully cooked
- Add all sauce ingredients to a bowl and combine well
- Time to assemble! I like using wide, shallow bowls and fill a quarter of the bowl with lettuce, a quarter with French fries, a quarter with ground beef, and remaining quarter with cheese, tomato and onion
- Drizzle sauce over everything and enjoy!
Notes
* or you could make your own homemade French fries, or sweet potato fries!

To make low carb:
Here, I sub the bun for fries. However, if you want forgo the carbs, you could make parsnip fries or swap in a favorite low carb vegetable.
To make plant-based:
Instead of ground beef you could use your favorite plant-based meat crumbles. Moreover, to make vegan swap in dairy-free cheese and dairy-free mayonnaise in the sauce.
