Here at Hungry Blonde we like to make our toasts seasonally appropriate. Now, this Apple Cinnamon Ricotta Toast feels like a taste of fall. No doubt, it’s the combination of the warm spices, soft and warm apples, and the salty, whipped ricotta. It’s a toast lover’s dream. So, you might be feeling a little like: Why would I want to put apples on my toast? Well, don’t worry, I get it. However, one taste of this recipe, and you’ll see exactly why you *need* this combo in your life.
If you follow me on Instagram you know that I am kinda sorta obsessed with ricotta roast. It’s definitely the new avocado toast, in my humble opinion 😉 I enjoy it as both sweet and savory toast combos! This one is sweet (with a hint of salt, always) and packing with delicious, apple and cinnamon fall flavors. Plus, it’s super simple to make! The ideal recipe for a busy morning or to whip on a quick work break.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 apple, diced
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- sprinkle of sugar (optional)
- 2 slices sourdough bread
- 1/4 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
- drizzle of honey
- flaky sea salt
Instructions
1. Melt butter in pan on medium heat, then add diced apple, cinnamon & sugar. Cook for about 5 minutes, tossing frequently, until apple is softened
2. Toast bread. Add a layer of ricotta cheese, then the apple mixture
3. Finish with drizzle of honey and sea salt

If you want to make Apple Cinnamon Ricotta Toast Gluten-Free:
In this case, I used a sourdough bread (not gluten-free). However, all you have to do to make this recipe gluten-free is substitute in your favorite gluten-free bread. If you are changing the bread, then I recommend choosing one that is sturdy. The apples need something supportive to sit on!
A pro tip…
You’ll most likely want to make this toast on repeat 😉 so go ahead and cook up 3-4 apples (with some extra, butter, cinnamon & sugar) and store them in the fridge for easy prep later on. You can reheat the apples again stovetop or in the microwave.
