A low-carb, grain-free bread that actually doesn’t taste like crap? Yep, this 5 Ingredient Keto Bread is a game-changer.
I don’t consider myself a follower of the Keto diet, but if I HAD to pick an eating style that resonates with me most and seems to work best with my body, it would be a combination of Paleo meets low carb/high fat (Keto)…with a pinch of calorie counting/portion control thrown in there 😉 I’ve made it no secret that I am neither pro nor anti “diet” – I truly believe that everyone is different and you have to find what works for YOU – whether that’s a specific style of eating or not.
With that being said, this bread is for anyone! Not only is it low in carbs and grain-free, but it’s ridiculously easy to make, and probably way cheaper than all of the fancy grain-free breads out there these days.
But enough rambling. Here’s how to make it.
5 Ingredient Keto Bread
Adapted from The Londoner
- 1 cup whole ground flaxseed meal
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp water
- Optional add-ins: crushed nuts, chia seeds, hemp seeds
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- In a large bowl whisk together eggs and water. Set aside.
- In another bowl combine the flax meal, almond flour, baking powder and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and combine well.
- Pour mixture into a greased loaf pan and bake for 20-23 minutes.
- Let cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.
There are endless options of how to eat this 5 Ingredient Keto Bread. Top with mashed avocado, nut butters, or you could even go crazy and make French Toast (that’s next on my agenda ;)). The loaf is very “short,” so I like slicing it longways for sandwich-style bread.
This 5 Ingredient Keto Bread has a great nutty, hearty flavor to it. I store mine in the fridge and reheat in the toaster oven to get the best texture.
