Whipped ricotta options
- You can use ricotta cheese with any fat content, however I recommend using full fat of 2% for best flavor.
- Generally, I recommend using pure, organic unfiltered honey.
- Manuka honey is also great as it has added health benefits, but it does have a more distinct flavor
Bread options:
In this case, you can use whatever bread you like – gluten-free or not! For this toast I used Canyon Bakehouse gluten-free bread.
If you want, then you could also use smaller crostini bread and make this recipe for a delicious appetizer.
Other topping ideas:
- fresh fruit like strawberries or sliced pair
- fresh or dried figs
- prosciutto
- roasted butternut squash
- pomegranate seeds
This is such a tasty and decadent way to level up your toast game. The combination of ricotta cheese and honey is so flavorful and it gets so incredibly creamy. Topped with crushed walnuts adds the perfect crunch, and don’t forget the sea salt so you get that delicious sweet and salty combo.
This recipe yields two servings (four slices of toast), but can easily be cut in half for one serving. As noted above, you can also make a larger batch and spread on smaller crostinis for a crowd-pleasing appetizer.
As always, if you make this Whipped Ricotta Honey toast or any of my other recipes, I love to see how they turned out! Be sure to leave a comment + review and tag me on Instagram or TikTok @hungry.blonde. xoxo GG
