Winter got quite a late start in New York, but here we are at the end of January and the weather is finally brisk and…well, freezing.
So to warm up I’ve been whipping together this super simple Skinny Peppermint Mocha Latte – an extra cozy and sweet way to switch up my normal morning coffee.
What you’ll need:
- 1 shot of espresso
- 1.5 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp pure peppermint extract
- 8 oz steamed milk (I used almond milk)
- sugar or sweetener to taste
- optional toppings: a sprinkle of cocoa powder, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, crushed espresso beans
Directions: Put cocoa powder in a mug, then add the hot espresso and peppermint extract and stir together. Add the steamed milk and give it one more light stir. Add sweetener and toppings of your choice.
Not only is this Mocha Latte delicious, but there’s something extra special about drinking a warm beverage out of a glass mug. It’s like it’s more of a treat!
I got these Double Wall Insulated Glass Mugs from Eparé, and they’ve been the perfect addition to my glassware set. The double wall prevents condensation and will keep your drink either extra hot or cold. It also adds a cool look to the beverage – like the liquid is “floating” inside.
