Baking is so much fun, however, many of the recipes have a large yield. If you’re only one or two persons, then it can sometimes seem like a waste to make an entire cake or a big batch of cookies because you don’t want to waste that food. I get it! And that’s exactly why I made this Single Serve Monkey Bread. This is such a great recipe to make for when you want something decadent and dessert-y but you don’t want to have leftovers for well… ever.
All you need to whip this recipe up is five simple ingredients — most of which you already have. Now, because the Pillsbury Crescent Roll dough can be stored in the freezer that means this recipe has no waste! It also means that you can take the dough out of the freezer at any point to quickly make this dessert again. And trust me, you’ll want to (; It can easily be doubled, too.
Ingredients and Substitutions for Single Serve Monkey Bread
In this recipe, I used dairy-free butter. However, you can use regular butter, too.
To make lower sugar: If you want to cut the sugar in this recipe, then you can use monk fruit sweetener in place of the granulated sugar. I like Swerve.
Instead of brown sugar you could use coconut sugar. You can also substitute the brown sugar for a sugar substitute.
Instead of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls you could use Pillsbury biscuit dough.
What I love about this recipe is that you can refrigerate or freeze the remaining dough from the package as to not waste it.
And if you want to kick things up a notch, you could try glazing the Monkey Bread with a quick mix of powdered sugar and milk, or even frosting it with cream cheese frosting. There are lots of ways to make this recipe even sweeter!
As always, if you make this Single Serve Monkey Bread or any of my other recipes I’d love to know how they turned out. Please leave a review, and be sure to tag me on Instagram @Hungry.Blonde! xoxo GG
