I’ll admit it – I’m a total sucker for Instagram food trends. I love how social media has caused restaurants to come up with fun and unique eats!
The newly famous Sushi Burger from The Redeye Grill was one that I’ve had on my eye on for a few weeks, so over the weekend Sydney and I headed there to try it out for ourselves.
As expected – it was everything I hoped for and more. The tuna was fresh and flavorful and the rice had the perfect texture (I opted for black rice over white – isn’t it pretty?). I wouldn’t try to eat this like a real burger, though…it got a tad messy so we resorted to fork and knifing it 😉
We also lunched on this massive Lobster Cobb Salad, which after this photo was tossed right in front of us. The chunks of lobster were enormous!
And because Sydney and I are pretty much incapable of not ordering guacamole everywhere we go, we got some guac + chips to munch on the side. It was made to order and actually some of the best I’ve had in a while. I loved the addition of pine nuts for an extra crunch.
In addition to the food, the overall ambiance and service at Redeye Grill was great. It’s a large, spacious restaurant with lots of natural sunlight. It’s also located in the heart of Midtown West, so it’s a great option for a working lunch or post-work dinner.
Our server Renee was very attentive and helpful, and the folks at Redeye were kind enough to surprise us with some bubbly and cotton candy for dessert.
