New York City certainly is not at a shortage of healthy eateries, but every once in a while a new one comes along with a unique spin on nutritious eats. Enter: Springbone Kitchen, who has embraced the recent bone both trend that has been all over the Paleo scene (and beyond).
Why bone broth? I’ll let them do the explaining…
I paid a visit to Springbone Kitchen a few weeks ago with my friend (and new New York resident!) Katy, and we got to try the broth for ourselves.
Let me tell you – these guys aren’t messing around when it comes to broth. Who knew there could be so many varieties?! In addition to their signature blends, you can custom create your own broth with add-ins from everything like meatballs, to collagen protein, Chaga mushroom extract and everything in between.
Katy and I enjoyed the Liquid Gold signature blend, and a custom beef broth blend including turmeric and meatballs. They were both delicious and packed to the brim with flavor.
…but Springbone Kitchen goes beyond the broth. They have a full menu of delicious gluten-free and dairy-free meals – most of them Paleo-friendly.
We tried the “Spaghetti” & Meatballs (zucchini spaghetti with grain-free meatballs, organic parmesan, tomatoes and a side of beef broth):
And the 100% Grass-Fed Burger on a gluten-free bun.
I’ll be honest – I can be a bit picky when it comes to burgers. But – dare I say – this was actually one of the best burgers I’ve had in quite a while (and I’ve had some good ones). I loved the simplicity of it – the beef was clearly top notch and it stood out as the star of the burger. The caramelized onions and guacamole certainly didn’t hurt either. If you go to Springbone Kitchen, I highly recommend getting it.
We wrapped up by sharing two of the vegan ice creams: Berry Banana (organic coconut cream base + organic raspberry puree + banana) and Dark Chocolate Avo (organic coconut cream base + cocoa powder + avocado + maple syrup). Both were great! Refreshing and not too sweet.
I grabbed a Berries and Cream smoothie to-go too, just ’cause 😉
Also pretty cool – the Springbone Kitchen broth can be bought by the jar! So you can sip on your delicious nutrients at home all week long.
