If you haven’t noticed, I kind of have a thing for vegan food. While I’m not myself a vegan, I’ve just always loved the flavors, textures, and all around creativity of vegan food. Dare I say I often find myself craving a great veggie burger more than a “real” one…?
I had seen By CHLOE all over Instagram for a few months before finally making it there myself last weekend. In addition to the food looking incredible, what really drew me to By CHLOE was they’re amazing branding. They’ve done such a great job of making vegan food seem…well, cooler. Check out their website and Instagram to see what I mean.
I had heard that By CHLOE can get quite busy, so my girl friends and I did our best to get there on the early side on a Saturday. We made it there just in time (around 12:30PM) before a line started forming and wrapping around the corner. We also managed to grab a table while waiting for our food, which you’ll probably want to do since the seating is at a first-come first-serve basis.
And now for the important stuff – the food.
THE GUAC BURGER – BLACK BEAN-QUINOA-SWEET POTATO PATTY, CORN SALSA, ONION, GUAC, TORTILLA STRIPS, CHIPOTLE AIOLI, WHOLE GRAIN BUN (I got mine on a gluten free bun).
In short, this is what my veggie burger dreams are made of. The patty was the perfect consistency, the guac was piled on there, and the chipotle aioli added a great spicy flavor.
MAC’N CHEESE – SWEET POTATO-CASHEW CHEESE SAUCE, SHIITAKE BACON, ALMOND PARM.
This mac’n cheese was the #1 thing I wanted to try at By CHLOE, and it absolutely did not disappoint. I still can’t understand how it can taste so much like real mac’n cheese, but I’m not here to ask questions 😉 The shiitake bacon is also incredible – definitely get some extra on the side.
I also got this epic cupcake to go, which made for the most perfect midnight snack (clearly). I’m not sure what the frosting is made of, but it’s some of the best I’ve ever had.
Last but not least, my friends got the Classic Veggie Burger, the avocado toast, a gluten free chocolate chip cookie, and egg-less egg nog. I had bites/sips of everything, and it was all (as expected) so delicious.
Whether you’re a vegan or not, I highly recommend paying By CHLOE a visit. You’ll be glad you did!
