Around this time of year there’s definitely no shortage of New Year’s Resolutions articles and advice swirling around the internet. From diets to workout routines and everything in between, the pressure to have a “New Year, new me” can be kind of overwhelming!
That’s why this year, I decided to put a more positive spin on my goals for 2017. Instead of focusing on things I wanted to stop doing or cut out of my life, I’m focusing on what I can ADD to my life to bring me more joy and fulfillment…more ways to #LiveFull.
I’ve been practicing these #LiveFull goals over the past few weeks, and I must say they’ve been going great! I definitely can see myself sticking to them throughout the rest of the year (and beyond).
Here’s what living full in 2017 looks like for me.
More reading. This has been a goal at the top of my list for a while. I have such a long list of books I’ve been wanting to read, and there’s just something about reading that changes my mindset as a whole. I love how reading is educational, entertaining, and calming all at the same time.
More meditation + journaling in the morning. I tend to be an “up and at ‘em” person because I love productive mornings, but jumping right into work usually leaves me feeling stressed and anxious throughout the day. Instead I want to dedicate 30-60 minutes each morning to meditate and journal about my gratitudes & intentions for the day ahead.
Create more dedicated working + non-working hours. As someone who works in social media, it has become normal to have work on my mind all the time. It’s just too darn easy when you can get work done at your fingertips (literally). I’ve made it a point to do the majority of my work when I’m physically at my desk, which helps me to “unplug” from technology when I’m not there. I’ve found this to be especially important and helpful in the evenings, when I can disconnect from my devices and relax before going to bed.
More strength training. Oh yes, I had to have a fitness goal in here! I tend to be a cardio queen, but this year I really want to work on building muscle and overall toning. I have a gym in my building, so there’s really no excuse not to utilize it. This is an area where I really need to work on consistency, because I know the results of strength training come gradually over time.
More smart snacking. Since I’m not always eating the healthiest of foods (#FoodBloggerLife), I want to do a better job of at least snacking smarter when I can. Lately I’ve been loving Yoplait Greek 100 Protein as my go-to snack. It’s been a total game-changer!
Yoplait Greek 100 Protein is not only delicious, it also comes in 20 (yes 20!) flavors, and it has an extra punch of protein that’s especially important now that I’ll be doing more strength training. It’s also super filling, so it helps holds me over in between meals. We’re talking 14-15g of protein per serving and only 100 calories.
The new Yoplait Greek 100 Protein comes in the same great flavors but with a new, thicker texture. It’s made with colors and flavors from natural sources with no high fructose corn syrup and contains live and active cultures.
Whether I’m working on a project at my desk or running out the door to a workout class, Yoplait Greek 100 Protein is also a great breakfast that is quick to eat and curbs my hunger so I can focus on having my most productive day.
