Healthier Apple Cobbler Dump Cake Made With Fresh Apples

This Healthier Apple Cobbler Dump Cake is the ultimate fall dessert hack. It’s simple, tasty and made with ingredients that you can feel good about. Plus, it’s gluten-free!

Ingredients

  • 45 medium apples, peeled and cut into cubes or slices
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 box gluten-free yellow cake mix
  • 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold (regular or vegan) butter, cut into thin slices
  • vanilla ice cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Toss apples with sugar and cinnamon, then add to the bottom of a 9×13 cake pan
  3. Sprinkle cake mix evenly on top of the apples (do not mix!), then a layer of the walnuts
  4. Place butter slices evenly across top, making sure to reach the edges
  5. Bake for 40-50 minutes,* until edges are bubbling and top is golden brown
  6. Enjoy warm or allow to cool before serving topped with ice cream
