I *love* monkey bread, and I’ll use any excuse to make it. My single-serve monkey bread recipe is on repeat in my house. Though, sometimes, I’m craving savory instead of sweet. It was in one of those moments that the idea for a savory monkey bread came to me.
Garlic Knot Monkey Bread is a delicious twist on the famous monkey bread, but this version uses pizza dough! The result is dense, chewy and butter garlic knots that you won’t be able to stop eating. While I totally wouldn’t judge if you wanted to eat the entire skillet with a side of marinara sauce for your meal, this recipe makes the *best* appetizer. The flavor profile pairs well with so many different meals.
This is the *ultimate* crowd-pleasing recipe (because who doesn’t love cheesy, bread-y goodness?!). Honestly, it’s perfect to bring to any party or gathering and will probably be gone in mere minutes.
I truly mean it when I say this is one of the best recipes I’ve ever made, and I can’t wait for you to try it!

Ingredients, Substitutes and Notes on Garlic Knot Monkey Bread
What kind of pizza dough should I use?
In this case, any pre-made pizza dough will work! I used the one from Trader Joe’s and it works wonderfully in this recipe. If you want to get super fancy, then you can use your own dough recipe here, too.
What cast iron skillet did you use?
I used an 8-inch cast iron skillet. You could also use an 8×8 baking dish, or a bundt cake pan for that “classic” monkey bread shape.
