Trust me when I say this Garlic Brown Butter Sauce is going to be your new BFF. All you need is TWO ingredients, and it pairs well with just about everything – pasta, chicken, vegetables, potentially even cardboard.
There’s a misconception that sauces are difficult or elaborate to make, but this one is anything but. It’s easy to keep the ingredients on hand to throw onto a last minute meal that will add impressive flavor.
Garlic Brown Butter Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 2 large cloves of garlic, crushed or finely minced
Directions:
Combine the butter and garlic in a small sauté pan over medium heat. Cook the butter until it melts, the foam subsides and it begins to turn a golden brown color, 3 to 5 minutes, whisking frequently to prevent burning. The butter will begin to smell slightly nutty and the garlic will be golden.
Turn off heat and add any additional spices/herbs – black pepper, sage, thyme & basil are my favorites.
Note: it does help to cook in a light-colored pan so you can more accurately gauge when the butter is perfectly browned without burning it.
