If you don’t think that sneaking bites of cookie dough is the best part of making cookies, you lyin’.
Of course, as a kid some of the fun came from hiding it from mom because she was constantly threatening that the raw egg would eff you up. While I personally never got sick from eating cookie dough with egg in it (has anyone, really?), sometimes ya just need cookie dough without limits. Like on Valentine’s Day. Or your birthday. Or an average Tuesday.
This recipe for EDIBLE COOKIE DOUGH (AKA egg-free) is so simple and there’s no excuse to dive straight in for a spoonful…or 10.
Edible Cookie Dough (Egg-Free)
Original recipe via Lil Luna
Ingredients:
-
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup sprinkles (optional)
Directions:
- In a large bowl cream the butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the milk and vanilla extract, then the flour and sugar until everything well combined.
- Mix in the chocolate chips and sprinkles.
- Serve as dip with pretzels, graham crackers, fruit, etc…or just eat by my preferred method, the spoonful.
- Store in the refrigerator.
To make gluten-free:
Use your favorite gluten-free all purpose baking flour (I like Bob’s Red Mill). Simple as that!
To make dairy-free:
Use your favorite non-dairy butter (like Earth Balance Buttery Spread) and almond or cashew milk in place of regular milk.
Not only is this Edible Cookie Dough delicious, it’s super simple and quick to make. You could also roll it into fun little cookie dough balls and dip in chocolate (note to self – do that next time).
As always, if you make this Edible Cookie Dough or any of my other recipes, I’d love to see how they turn out! Be sure to tag me on Instagram @Hungry.blonde 🙂 xoxo GG
