Hello hello from the 405! I’m on my way to LAX, in traffic, of course. How do you Californians do it?? And PTL for having a wifi hotspot, let me tell ya.
You might have seen me post on Instagram that this month I’m teaming up with Tiny’s for breast cancer awareness month, so I wanted to share some extra details on that.
I worked with the Tiny’s culinary team to create the dishes below for my limited edition Hungry Blonde menu (which, HELLO was soooo fun), and a portion of the proceeds for these dishes will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
I’m excited about this collab for so many reasons, and it really came at the perfect time. Using my platform for a greater good has always been something that is important to me, whether it’s my holiday food drives or partnerships like this one. Your support really means the world, so if you’re in NYC please consider visiting Tiny’s this month to try my menu!
Here are the full details on the dishes + a couple of sneak peek pix.
Pumpkin Spice Bread: gluten-free pumpkin spice bread, mascarpone whipped cream, orange zest (for breakfast, lunch & brunch)
Banana Bread Pancakes: whole wheat pancakes, caramelized bananas, pecans, maple syrup (for breakfast, lunch & brunch)
Butternut Squash Mac’n Cheese: cavatappi pasta, butternut squash, bechamel cheese, breadcrumbs (for lunch, brunch & dinner)
Harvest Veggie Burger: turnip, parsnip, squash kale & quinoa burger with Tiny’s house-made special sauce, lettuce, tomato, sweet potato fries (for lunch, brunch & dinner)
Speaking of October, YAY FOR SPOOKY SZN. Seriously though, October has always been my favorite month. There’s something about it that feels so childlike…like anything is possible. I also just feel most like myself this time of year.
You might have noticed yesterday on Instagram scrolling through what seems to be hundreds of “October Intentions” posts. There’s this trend of people beautifully writing their monthly intentions/goals, complete with cute illustrations, mantras, etc.
I’ve never done a post like that, mostly because my writing/drawing can tend to look like that of a 10-year-old, but also because I’ve just always been more of the type to keep my goals and intentions private.
This month, though, I actually don’t think I’m going to make any specific goals. I actually had it on my to-do list yesterday to write out my October goals (ha), but nothing came to the front of my mind. Of course I could’ve forced a list of goals/intentions, but I felt like I was supposed to be more in tune with the fact that nothing specific came to mind, and just roll with that. To just take this favorite month of the year and enjoy it one day at a time – one intention at a time.
There’s certainly nothing wrong with having monthly goals or intentions, it’s a practice I usually do! So I’m not throwing any shade. But maybe you felt similarly yesterday or at some point, so I want to let you know it’s okay if you don’t do what everyone else is doing. It’s okay if one month you’re intentional AF and the next month you just go with the flow. It’s okay if not everything becomes a list. Definitely preaching to myself with that one…
On that note, I G2G sit and refresh my Uber app every 30 seconds in hopes I arrive in time to not sprint to my gate. Say a prayer for me 😉 xoxo GG
