When it comes to parties or holiday gatherings, I always jump on volunteering for dessert duty. It’s not only because of my own personal sweet tooth (although, let’s be real – that’s a big factor), but I just love the opportunity to treat guests to a little something they might not enjoy very often.
This Dairy-Free Vanilla Mousse with berries & almond cookie crumble is so perfect to bring to 4th of July BBQs or summer gatherings! It’s light, super simple to make, and since it’s made with dairy-free ingredients like Planet Oat Oatmilk it’s a dessert that can be enjoyed by everyone.

I’ve been loving Planet Oat oatmilk lately – not only is it great in recipes like this one, but it’s so delicious to drink straight out a glass. It comes in 4 flavors (original, extra creamy, vanilla, and dark chocolate) and is not only dairy-free but also gluten-free, soy-free, lactose-free, peanut-free, and tree-nut-free.

As for this mousse, here’s how to make it!
Dairy-Free Vanilla Mousse {with Berries & Almond Cookie Crumble}
Mousse ingredients:
- 1 container dairy-free whipped topping, thawed to room temperature
- 1 package (3.4-ounce) dairy-free vanilla instant pudding
- 1.5 cups original Planet Oat Oatmilk
Cookie Crumble ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (could use gluten-free baking flour*)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp slivered almonds
- 1 stick dairy-free butter, melted
- 1 cup fresh berries of choice (I used blueberries + strawberries)
*I have not tried using an alternative like coconut/almond flour for the cookie crumble, but it probably will not result in the same texture
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line 8×8 round baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, almonds and melted butter. Press mixture into baking pan and bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown.
- Let cool for a at least 20 minutes, then break into cookie crumbles. Set aside.
- In a separate large bowl whisk or beat the pudding mix with Planet Oat Oatmilk until thickened (about 2-3 minutes).
- Fold whipped topping into the pudding just until combined.
- Transfer mousse to a large serving bowl. Top with fresh berries and cookie crumbles. Serve immediately.
