FITNESS: 15 minute workouts
Breaking up with intense, hour+ long workouts is one of the best things I did for my fitness. Here’s why:
- CONSISTENCY. By lowering the pressure on myself (“hey, I can do anything for 15 minutes!”) I was able to stay more consistent than with longer workouts that often seemed overwhelming.
- RESISTANCE TRAINING became my focus instead of cardio, which completely changed my body composition. This one definitely took time, but focusing on building muscle (with adequate protein intake) changed my body in a way that intense cardio never did.
- LOWER STRESS. I personally believe that switching from high intensity to low intensity workouts really worked in favor of my hormones and helped my body stop holding onto weight from essentially being in “fight or flight” all the time.
PROTEIN: Slate chocolate protein milk
