Ok wow – it already feels weird going back to this old blogging life. Ha!
If you didn’t know, I started blogging almost 10 years ago with a blog called Girl Meets Health, which shortly after became Girl Meets Life. Blogging was a totally different world back then. At one point I was posting 2-3 times a day – it was kind of like what Instagram is now. Over the years I clearly became much more active on Instagram, and the blog became more of a place for my recipes to live.
But, I suppose since it’s where I got my start, my heart will always have a soft spot for good old fashioned blogging. I’m talking the more dear diary style posts that I’m sure many of you remember (especially if you’ve been following me since those “Healthy Living Blogger” days).
That’s why I thought it would be fun to do this blogging challenge. Not only is it a different way to connect with you, but I’m also using it to tweak some things I’d like to change about myself/Hungry Blonde. I feel like over the years bloggers/influencers have gotten so obsessed with being ~*CuRaTeD*~. I am soooo guilty of this. I want every photo to be edited perfectly, my grid to look a certain way, my captions to read a certain way, etc. Even now I’m cringing as I type because I know these posts are going to be far from perfect. They’re probably even going to be a little messy. But that’s the point.
What you can expect: ummm, I don’t know?! Haha. Once again, I think that’s the point 😉 My goal is to just sit down at any point during the day and go back to that dear diary style of blogging. No plan or goal in mind – just kind of whatever feels right at the moment.
That might be a realization I had that day, what I ate, workouts, or if I’m crunched for time just a quote or even meme I was vibing with. Some posts might have pictures, others might not. You’ll find out as soon as I do.
(Like I said, this challenge is totally for myself, but if you want to join along to challenge yourself I’d love to follow along! Tag me on IG @hungry.blonde and use the hashtag #HBBloggingChallenge)
Anyway, I’m wrapping up a week in California with a night to myself in a nice hotel. The trip was great – part work, all fun. I spend a lot of time in CA, but this trip was my first in Sonoma and also Palm Springs. Both were so lovely.
…but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited to get back to that dingy city of mine 😉 So the plan for tonight is to catch up on emails, maybe hit the gym, order room service, and watch Mad Men for the billionth time.
So I guess there’s day one. That wasn’t so bad.
xoxo GG
