That’s right – my bestie is the new Social Media + Digital Marketing Manager at LDV Hospitality. Yay, Sydney!
I’ve made it no secret that American Cut is pretty much my favorite restaurant in the entire universe, but LDV has a handful of other incredible restaurants that you can best believe you’ll be seeing more of on HB.
The other night we feasted at Scarpetta – LDV’s signature restaurant in the Meatpacking District. I had been to Scarpetta once before (as well as Scarpetta Beach in Montauk), but this particular visit was on another level. And by that I mean – a tasting menu level.
The GM made sure we got to try all of Scarpetta’s most popular dishes. From start to finish, each bite was perfection. Here are the dishes we enjoyed, with my absolute favorites in bold.
RAW YELLOWTAIL – olio di zenzero & pickled red onion
BRAISED SHORT RIBS OF BEEF – vegetable & farro risotto
CREAMY POLENTA – fricassee of truffled mushrooms
SHORT RIB & BONE MARROW AGNOLOTTI – garlic chip & horseradish
(Their famous) SPAGHETTI – tomato & basil
BLACK COD – caramelized fennel & concentrated tomato
MASCARPONE CHEESECAKE – stone fruit, streusel & lemon verbena gelato
ESPRESSO BUDINO – salted caramel, chocolate biscotti & hazelnut gelato
What I love about Scarpetta is that it’s chic and modern, yet still serves classic and simple Italian dishes. Seriously…do not leave without trying their spaghetti!
I have a feeling I’ll be going back to Scarpetta soon, and I can’t wait until I do!
