If you follow my Instagram Stories, you’ve probably seen me share a lot lately how much I’ve been loving the Yoga Sculpt class at CorePower Yoga.
If I’m being completely honest, I previously wasn’t the biggest fan of yoga. I had tried for a long time to like it, especially after hearing about all of the amazing benefits. But I always found myself a bit bored and not fully connecting to the practice.
…But then the Yoga Sculpt class at CorePower Yoga came along.
Yoga Sculpt is now hands down one of my favorite fitness classes (and I’ve taken a lot, so that’s saying something). Below I lay out a bit more about the class – what you can expect and why I love it so much. Be sure to also check out the CorePower Yoga website, though, because they do a much better job of explaining their classes, etc. 😉
You can also click here to get an entire week of CorePower Yoga for FREE. They have locations all over the country!
Preparing for class / what to expect
- If you’re a beginner, start with CorePower Yoga 1 to learn the basics before moving on to Yoga Sculpt
- Bring water with you, or you can purchase at the studio
- Bring your own mat and towel, or you can rent at the studio
- The class will be hot (90-93 degrees), so be prepared to sweat a lot!
- Try to get there early to get a good spot. I prefer to be in the front so I can watch my form in the mirrors
- You’ll be using two sets of weights – I usually go with 3lbs and 5lbs
- The class is a combination of traditional yoga poses, strength movements (squats, etc.), and cardio (jumping jacks, burpees, etc.) set to fun upbeat music
- Total class time is 60 minutes, including a warm up and cool down/Savasana
Why I love CorePower Yoga Sculpt
It’s FUN.
This isn’t the yoga class you might be used to. Yoga Sculpt is fast-paced, high intensity, and the music may or may not make you want to bust a move 😉 I find the 60 minutes to fly by because I’m actually enjoying it so much.
It’s challenging.
With that being said – it isn’t an easy class! The combination of the heat, strength moves and cardio will definitely leave you out of breathe and muscles sore.
It’s empowering.
There’s nothing quite like that feeling of leaving a fitness class knowing you pushed yourself physically and mentally, and Yoga Sculpt does exactly that.
It’s effective.
In just a few months of doing Yoga Sculpt 1-2 times a week, I can honestly say I’ve seen a transformation in my body. Not only do I find myself becoming stronger, but dare I say I’m starting to see some abs peek through?!
I’ve also loved how well CorePower Yoga fit perfectly into my preexisting wellness routine. In case you missed it, I shared on Instagram some of my favorite meals to eat before/after Yoga Sculpt class.
